Snowshoe1958Participant
We need a cord ourselves…let us know also?
WikamiCabinParticipantLooking for some hardwood for our cabin before the snow hits…ideally oak but will consider others.
Delivery only options (Dorrington).
Got taken last season so looking for reputable sources.whynotsnowParticipantClear up here today. So sad though for all those affected from these fires. 🙁
whynotsnowParticipantI saw him yesterday. He pulled past my driveway, saw me raking pine needles, then he backed up. I thought he was going to pull into my driveway. Then he slowed down again and as he was passing my driveway, I said hello?? He just waved and drove off. ( replying to Wikami Cabin)
He did have facial hair, white guy. I would say 40 or 50 years old.
Very unusual.

gagacabinParticipantA white pickup (extended cab) very slowly drove by our driveway, then stopped for a sec. Drove off, then backed up and looked up our driveway again. This was yesterday afternoon around 3 p.m. I could not see any sort of sign on the side of the truck…
Hopefully, it was someone trying to find a certain address.WikamiCabinParticipantHi gagacabin,
I believe so. Yes.
Also neighbor saw the truck again, later yesterday afternoon. Driving around Big Trees.
Does anyone know if there was a vegetation management group checking on the condition of properties yesterday?
gagacabinParticipantJust checked my cameras. Was it an extended cab?
rswheeler1ParticipantNovember 10. I’m up here now. The smoke isn’t too bad. I hear there are off shore winds tomorrow, so air quality should improve. I live in Pleasant Hill, and the smoke is bad there.
ScottWikamiCabinParticipantHi Snider Snow…
No beard of any kind but again I was a ways back from road.Snider Snow and StumpParticipantDid he have a long beard???
WikamiCabinParticipantHey all,
About 40 mins ago a caucasian man (mid 20’s?), with short dark hair, drove down Wikami Way toward Sierra Pkwy. Truck was an all white, newer model. Believed to be a Dodge Ram
He slowed at my driveway and looked around my garage (open because we are working outside today). He pulled up a bit, looked around house, saw my kids, then backed up and looked up my neighbor’s driveway toward her place. It looked like he was about to drive up her driveway but caught sight of her. She asked “What do you want?” He just waved and slowly drove away looking back at my house (opposite sides of Wikami).
Didn’t feel right. Felt like he was casing our places. Please keep an eye peeled. I am putting a call in to the Sheriff just incase.
ejgurt1Participant…any smoke up there from the fire near Chico? The bay area is really bad.
BillParticipantThanks nadamico. I will give you a call iin a few days. I appreciate your help.
DaveTParticipantWhen we talked with the PG&E customer support office, they assured us that no trees would be cut down without explicit approval from owners, and that we could remove the ‘X’ from the trees if we register our refusal. We removed the ‘X’ using a simple wire brush and chisel — just took a few minutes.
I too have a fear that their tree removal crew will operate with different marching orders. After all, no one I’ve heard from has had PG&E contact them for approval, so we’re also putting notes on our at risk trees saying not to remove. I do agree that PG&E’s customer service department has been excellent.
KumaParticipantWell I did a quick trip up to Arnold this past weekend and PG & E has marked yet one more tree in front of my cabin! Biggest tree on my lot, very healthy and no sign of dying. Tree is about 20 feet from lines!
I called again and they claim no tress will be removed without me taking to them first. My guess is I will come up and just find them cut down and I’ll get an apology after the fact. -
