Agree with thermocoupler. Replaced one a couple of years ago. Not difficult. It would be amazing to know how many have panicked, run down to Lowes, Home Depot, or the local hardware store for a $400.00+ water heater, when a $12.00 thermocoupler would do. I was nearly one of them. Thank you Internet.

Yes, sounds like the thermocouple. Sometimes the pilot flame doesn’t envelop the thermocouple enough to generate sufficient power to enable the pilot. Make sure that the pilot flame is properly aimed.

We are on Shastan (Unit 1) and can only send/receive text messages. The Verizon service goes through Golden State Cellular, and getting to the voice-mail messages is a little complicated (look on-line at Golden State, I left the instructions up at the house).

I agree with guyo. The pilot light sensor is easy to fix. I’ve done it 3 times.

Sounds like a bad thermocouple. You can buy them at Ace Hardware in Arnold and replace yourself if you’re a little bit handy. You can probably find a video on youtube on how to do it.

    Hello,
We arrived this evening to find the pilot light out on our water heater. It lights, but won’t stay lit. Ebbetts Gas can’t come by until some time on Monday. Any advice on who we might call to resolve this tomorrow (Saturday)?
    Thanks!

Like Scott, I too have an LG Accolade. (I thought I had the only one left on the planet!) We have Verizon. At our place (Shoshone near Meko) unless I happen to hit the EXACT spot in the bedroom that sometimes erratically gets one bar, my phone is in constant “searching for service” mode. I wish Verizon would allow their network extender again in Dorrington. We had great service with that. The Verizon map says we should have service at our cabin, but we don’t.

The Big Trees Village Property Owners Association is starting a Neighborhood Watch program for our area. The next meeting is on Friday, December 27th at 4pm (before it gets too dark!) at the Association Office at the Rec Center. Hope to see you there!

    Helene,
You will really like the S4! I got an S3 2.5 months ago; first smartphone. Use it all the time (too much)! Took a 28 day trip to Europe in Oct-Nov, and it was our camera. It can get addicting, as you see wherever you go! Have fun!
