Yes! Every year there’s at least a handful of idiots with firecrackers. Get ’em outta’ here!!

I bought my wife a hiking stick in case a coyote attacks her dogs when she is walking them. Another good idea is to carry a golf club. However, if they don’t bother you, please don’t bother them.

Thanks for all the replies. I’m getting one from Barton Overhead doors. Phabib, I know I can install one myself but I’m doing a lot of work on a fixer cabin right now and really don’t have time to fool with one. If I had the time, I would definitely buy one and install it myself. Thanks for the info anyway.

Big Coyote came through a bit ago. Fortunately all the cats made it back safe and sound.

We saw one on Chumash this morning, about 730 am. We were also walking our lab. It didn’t follow us but it watched us for a while from near a house as we walked by. Sunday we saw one across Sierra pky near the rec center. Similar behavior…it watched us from the forest but didn’t flee or follow.

Just a heads up, I was walking on Chumash Cir on Monday (6-23) 9:30 a.m. morning with my lab and we encountered a Coyote. I tried to scare it off and that usually works but it didn’t. It followed us a good 1/4 mile till I got to my house, very strange behavior so people with small pets and children keep an eye out.

Allen, this isn’t what you asked for but when I couldn’t find someone local who wanted to show up and do a door install I bought the door and installed it myself. I had heard how hard it was going to be and how I’d break bones if I tried to adjust the springs and so on so it wasn’t my first choice.

In the end, the directions were excellent, the door goes on in sections so no single part of it was too heavy for me to lift, and the whole job only took about 1/2 a day.

Normal hand tools and a couple of pieces of 1/2″ round bar to tighten the spring are all you need.

I don’t know if this happened in BTV or not. I just wanted to say “way to go!’ for watching out for your neighbors! Pay it forward!

I received an email several weeks ago indicating they would come and pick up the yellow pages from my driveway. On arriving at my place this weekend it was still there.

I love living up here, and seeing mother nature in her glory, but I don’t like big cats roaming around!
