My Comcast has been down almost every afternoon and sometimes does not come back up until the next day. They are suppose to come out Saturday and check it out.

At least that is what I hope happens after I turned down all of the sales pitches the guy give me when I called them for a service call. The best pitch was did I know I could use chat on my computer to fix my problem. Not if the internet is not working or I could bundle my phone and internet and only pay x hundreds of dollars.

As I understand the situation, the prospective buyer was one of 4 interested parties. Apparently, they have experience running ski resorts (Stevens Pass in Washington and Mountain High in So. California) but no experience in the hospitality (ie, BV Lodge) or real estate development.  I think this latter fact along with some unresolved issues soured the deal.  It will be interesting if one of the other 3 will now step up.

Aghhh!  Every year that BVSR remains with the current ownership, the needed upgrades and repairs are deferred. There's no upside for a buyer if the purchase is for BVSR only, which is huge profit risk.  Including the already limited village improvement sweetens the deal.  If the potential new owners can always contract out the construction and management of the expansion project to a developer but retain ownership.  The county should be offering any/all tax credits available.

In my opinion, our property values & already super depressed local economy will remain low without a change in BVSR ownership and the much needed improvements.

Found it,fixed it.  We had a bad combination of webserver issues, and isolated power outage (a cat turned off the UPS I think).
Anyway, it looks like everything is working again :-)

Looks like some of the posts were lost in this thread when the database crashed. NorCal, if those jerks come around here I think I will get them on my surveillance system. You must have barely missed them on your camera when they took your flags. I've got eight cameras so there's only a couple of "dead spots" here and you have to know exactly where they are and which way to come up to get to the dead spots or else you're on Candid Camera.  ;D

Anyone else notice Comcast has been down every afternoon for the past three days? I just don't know what I would do if Comcast had a competitor up here.  ;D

I have a Bushnell HD color, I think it might be called the trophy cam. I think there are quite a few different cameras that work equally well.

I saw a mountain lion today.  I was riding my bike on my way back from the river on Boards Crossing Rd at about 5:30 PM.  It was jogging in the left side of the road before it heard me and ran off into the brush.  I made my ride home in record time!  Very cool to have finally seen one not stuffed or in a zoo. ;D

It looks like our web host server crashed sometime between last night and this afternoon.  I don't know when it happened but I do know that it crashed one of the site data bases so any messages that were posted from approximately 11AM 9/4 until now (about 4:40PM 9/5) have been lost.  feel free to re-post.

Just wondering, did CCWD board put in place the outrageous rate schedule that was to be voted on recently?  I sent in my protest email at the last minute, hoping that they may reconsider.  I am sure that for many people like me, as a part timer, that I rarely exceed 100 cf per bill, and the cost per cubic foot would be astronomical.

    John

I'm not sure. I looked at the CCWD rate schedule starting September 1, 2013 and I was paying $79.00 "base" every billing cycle (two months) which is of course $39.50 a month. According to the rate schedule, a 5/8" main will have a monthly "base" rate of $49.38. A 3/4" main will have a monthly "base" rate of $74.06. You can look at the rate schedule here:

Hmm, seems most of the belongings thus far claimed are from the very north end…

When we bought, some of the vacant forsale properties in the same area had been vandalized.  The agent said a small posse of year-round unsupervised preteens was fingered as the culprits.  I wonder if the "art" is the result of the same teenage restlessness.

Don't forget the address sign 3265. If it's 3265 Shoshone Drive like I think it is, that's somewhat in the middle of BTV. These "kids" must have a car or truck. The lawn jockey is very heavy and clumsy.

No problem. Hope the culprits aren't reading all this or your flags might be gone again when you come back up! :-)

Several pieces of property has been re-united with its owners.  Thanks for the post and pictures.
