I have one…I don’t get up there anymore during the winter and it’s just taking up space.

Hey Dogwood, thanks for the update. I did end up purchasing the Econet, they should arrive soon. For several reasons (age, spacing & missing handles!) I am having two new ball valves installed which takes care of one issue. My placement should be good, so as long as the Econet product is decent I’m good to go. Fingers crossed I won’t be crawling into the back corner under the house this winter.

I ended up removing the eco net and took the hit and bought a motorized electric valve that runs off of 120 volts and put the switch inside the cabin. It was $300 bucks but it is super convenient. My problem with the Eco net was that my main ball valve was super hard to turn and was really old. The Eco net struggled to close the valve all the way and the connection via z wave wasn’t stable. So it made sense to replace the whole setup. I have a 4 foot tall crawl space and locating the valve somewhere to turn manual was not an option. You want to make sure the main is right where the water enters your building with the least possibility for freezing.

I need to find an enclosed garage to rent, in BTV, for the winter. The car I need to “enclose” is not useful in snow and ice.

    Thank you

I am finally getting around to putting in wifi controlled valves. Looking at the Econet IV valve and wondering if anyone has a long term review of the Econet product. Thanks for any guidance.

In my opinion, Snider snow removal service is the best in our area.
Yes, I have used others. Adam is reliable and dependable. Jessica (his wife) is very helpful if you call with an issue regarding the snow.
Our steep driveway has created some scary moments, it is always Adam to the rescue!
Looking forward to another snowy winter in this beautiful area.

So, let me try to understand this. I am awakened in the dead of night with a bear INSIDE my house and I go and entrap myself in a room in the same house????

If I encounter a bear already IN my house, for the sake of myself and my family, that will be a very dead bear. Full stop.

What phone number do we reach the sheriff at? Or, simply use 911 ? Will that work with a cell phone only?

From the Big Trees Village Facebook page:

Now is the time that the Bears are on the move…
Over the last several days there has been reports in the BTVPOA area that several homes and cars broken into by bear. Last night a juvenile bear was seen breaking into a homeowner’s car on Shoshone, then the bear went to a home on Sierra Parkway at 2:00 a.m. and broke into the home while the homeowners was asleep. The homeowner locked themselves into their bedroom and called the Sheriff. There have been other reports of bears trying to get into homes through windows in our area.

If you live in BTV please remember we live in the woods, keep your home and property safe, this is the time of year when bears are on the move for food. Don’t leave your screen doors or windows open if possible, this is an invitation for the bears to come in and do not leave food out or in your cars. This picture was taken this morning on Chinook Way I am sure this was a bear.

Remembers bears don’t just move around at night they can be seen during the day too.
